Mixtape Memory
Here’s where I archive what I’ve been listening to—on cassette, vinyl, or the odd burned CD. This isn’t a playlist. It’s a personal archive of soundtracks, moods, and magnetic joy.
Featured Tape: Best of Alice Cooper
Just arrived today after hearing it mentioned in a movie. Currently my most played tape!
Loud, theatrical, and way more timeless than I expected. “Poison” lives in my head rent-free.

Why I Collect
This collection isn’t just about the music, it’s everything wrapped around it. The feel of a cassette, the scratch of a worn label, the memory attached to a track you didn’t even mean to like. I’m curating something emotional, and lived.
- I’m drawn to storytelling. From The Casebook of Sherlock Holmes and Discworld to The Silmarillion, I love albums and tapes that carry a narrative. Even my rock picks like F8 or The Beast of Alice Cooper all tend to be theatrical, like little worlds trapped on tape.
- I like music with texture. I want something with grit. That’s why you’ll find artists like Clutch or John Lee Hooker in here. There’s warmth in imperfection. I like hearing the room the music was recorded in.
- I shift between moods — hard. Some days it’s the chaos of Awesome Mix Vol. 2, other days I want something as reflective as Michael Jackson or as angry as Five Finger Death Punch. I don’t pick one vibe. I collect across the whole spectrum.
- I love physical media. This is nostalgic, yes but it’s also tactile. I rewind, flip sides, stare at weird cover art, and wonder who last owned this tape. It's music as experience, not background noise.
So yeah; my shelves might look a little chaotic, but that’s kind of the point. There’s a story behind every cassette, and that’s what makes collecting worth it.
